Walkies at RHS Wisley Returns for Dog-Friendly Summer Evenings
Wisley Welcomes Four-Legged Visitors Back for Summer Walkies
For pet owners across Surrey, finding new and beautiful spaces to walk their dogs is a constant pursuit. While our county boasts incredible common land and woodland trails, the spectacular RHS Garden Wisley has historically been off-limits to our canine companions. That is all changing once again this summer. The highly anticipated ‘Walkies at RHS Wisley’ event series is making a welcome return, offering local dog owners from nearby East Horsley, Woking, and Guildford a rare chance to explore the 240-acre world-class horticultural site. Running on selected evenings from April through to August, this special event series is sponsored by Tails.com. It gives local dogs the unique opportunity to sniff their way through some of the most beautifully curated landscapes in the UK. For our local community, it is a wonderful way to experience the gardens in the gentle evening light, transforming a standard daily chore into a memorable outing with friends, family, and neighbours.
A Perfect Evening Escape for Busy Surrey Homeowners
Spring and summer are notoriously busy seasons for local residents looking to update their properties. Many families in Guildford and the surrounding villages are currently juggling hectic schedules, perhaps coordinating with local bathroom fitters for a stylish bathroom refurbishment, or overseeing a major kitchen renovation to open up their homes for summer entertaining. Amidst the chaos of home improvements, these dog-friendly evenings at Wisley offer the ultimate tranquil escape. Visitors can leave the stress of building dust behind and treat their pets to some luxury of their own. The Village Square Kiosk and local food vans will be serving up doggy ice cream, puppaccinos, and artisan dog biscuits. Meanwhile, owners can indulge in hot and cold drinks, toasties, and fresh bakery treats from the Wisley Café. It is the perfect opportunity to relax, chat with fellow pet lovers, and enjoy the great outdoors.
Dates, Rules, and Ticket Information for Local Visitors
To ensure the safety of the plants and visitors alike, RHS Wisley has introduced a few sensible guidelines. Owners are permitted a maximum of two dogs each, which must be kept on a lead at all times. Dogs must stay out of the water features and children’s play areas, and owners are expected to clean up after their pets. The evening strolls take place on selected dates, including Friday 24 April (6pm–8pm), Sunday 31 May (6pm–8:30pm), and several weekend and Friday slots across June, July, and August, concluding on Wednesday 26 August. RHS members can access the event for free, while non-member tickets are priced at £9.05 per adult and £5 per child. There is no charge for the dogs themselves. Local residents are encouraged to book their slots early on the RHS website to avoid disappointment, as these magical evening walkies are incredibly popular with the Surrey community.
